Thomas Schoos Dishes on Forthcoming Resto Projects

New, 11 comments

What's going on in the world of restaurant and hospitality designer Thomas Schoos? Quite a bit. In the past Schoos has touched Koi, the Penthouse at the Huntley, Searsucker (SD), and most recently signed on to design the new Morimoto restaurant Live, a remodel over at O-Bar that will launch under a new name around April 2011, in addition to a few other recently announced projects. Cafe Beach will open on the corner of Sweetzer and Santa Monica, think a beach front with live birds in cages, and in the back a coffee shop with baked goods. Then, taking over the previous Forbidden City space comes Avenue Montaigne at Hollywood & Vine which could open as early as December for private parties. This space, currently in plywood mode (walls being sealed up, floors going in), is set to serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and late supper. Finally, Schoos plans to open a retail store to sell the decorative wares and such found in the hotels and restaurants he has designed. More to come. [EaterWire]
