Wow, we have a winner. Eater National via WWD dishes on the news that GQ Style Editor Adam Rapoport will be named editor-in-chief of Bon Appétit magazine. Yikes, this could not be a more drastic change from Barbara Fairchild who has been with the publication, working her way up from Readers Service Assistant to EIC, for 32 years.
Apparently Rapoport does have some food writing and blogging experience, he also previously served as editor for the restaurant section of Time Out New York.
What does this mean for BA? Well, after that redesign two years back the mag was trying to attract a younger audience, the title font changed, food photography changed, and now with a younger EIC coming from a style background, Bon App is sure to head in a new direction.
