Thieves Steal $8,000 in Equipment From City Bean, Shop Holds Highway Robbery Sale

Today City Bean coffee shop and roastery near La Brea and Jefferson issued the following:

"On Tuesday, October 5, City Bean's roastery was burglarized. The thieves made off with over $8,000 in office equipment, labeling equipment, and tools. In the spirit of turning a negative into a positive for their customers, City Bean will conduct a 'Highway Robbery Sale' for the week of October 11-15. Typically, customers can come to the roastery and purchase coffee that sells for $12-$16 per pound on citybean.com for only $6-$9 per pound as part of its wholesale-to-the-public program. The Highway Robbery Sale offers those same coffees for $5 per pound. Fresh roasted coffee will be offered each day of the sale, first-come-first-served, cash only, and whole bean only in one and five pound bags. Each day's selection will be posted by 5p the night before it is available, on City Bean's Facebook page, as well as on Twitter @citybeancoffee."
So there it is, stock up while you can. [EaterWire]
