Back in June came word that Aidan Demarest, former beverage director at The Edison followed by a stint at First & Hope, and Marcos Tello, cocktail crafter at The Varnish and The Edison, pooled together to found mixology consulting team Tello Demarest Liquid Assets. One of their first projects was to retool drinks at 35-year old eatery The Raymond in Pasadena, however as it turns out the pair decided to open a new bar in the back of the restaurant called 1886, named after the year the building in which the restaurant sits was constructed. While the opening was originally projected for October 5, Demarest provides an update stating that finishing touches happen this week, hopefully everything should be in place by Saturday with an official launch happening on November 19.
