On Wednesday, The Los Angeles City Council passed an amendment restricting permits for new fast food restaurant in South LA stipulating that new fast food restaurants can not be within half a mile of currently existing fast food eateries. A previous ban had been in place for the vicinity, though expired in September. The amendment was passed in effort to fix an "over-concentration" of fast food in the area. [NRN]
