We present the latest edition of A Moveable Tweet, where we take a look at the most intriguing tweets in the restaurant industry.
New York is known for pizza. So, when a new spot opens, it's not always easy to differentiate one's self from the zillions of pizza places that litter the city. Enter Artichoke Basille, which opened on 14th Street in the spring of 2008 with just a tiny TINY pizzeria (there's about four feet of standing room in there) serving just a few types of pie, though the namesake artichoke slice reigns supreme. Critics loved it right off the bat, fans lined up out the door to try the creamy artichoke slice, and as one might expect, Artichoke expanded. Sort of an odd addition, but nightlife juggernauts Noah Tepperberg and Jason Strauss joined (Avenue, Marquee) the two joined original owners Sal Basille and Francis Garcia to launch a westside location, no shocker to hear Noah and co picked the meatpacking district. Course they did. Anyway, according to the above tweet from Sir Noah, looks like LA is next in line for its very own Artichoke Basille. More pizza for LA? Bring it. [Twitter]
