Umami proprietor Adam Fleischman and the SFGate report that Umami, the beloved LA burger chain, will trek up north for its first location outside of this here city. Management signed a lease on Friday for a space in the Marina which they estimated to open by March 1. While each LA Umami outpost has its own identity and interior design, the San Fran location will most closely resemble the La Brea original with a "pronounced Japanese look," similar menu, plus the addition of a beer and wine bar.
