Have you ever kicked a critic OUT of your restaurant? Team Red Medicine (the newly opened modern Vietnamese spot on Wilshire) has. Late yesterday evening partner Noah Ellis spotted, snapped a photo, and asked LA Times Food Critic S. Irene Virbila plus crew to leave. The word "bitchy" may have also factored in there somewhere. From Ellis:
"She came in and was waiting for a table. She was recognized, so I took a photo and asked them to leave. Some conversation ensued, but they left. We didn't want her reviewing us, and we wanted anyone else she is going to review to have the benefit of knowing what she looks like, as we feel that her rating system isn't consistent and some of her reviews are unnecessarily harsh, which unfairly punishes the staff. A number of people in this city have been fired because of bad reviews (not officially of course), many of which were completely irrational."·Red Medicine Serves Non-Traditional Vietnamese Thursday [~ELA~]
