A year and a half after signing that original lease, please welcome Coronado's Mexican Restaurant & Bar to the dance floor. Last Thursday during Art Walk father and son team Gilbert and Robert Coronado debuted their relocated San Gabriel eatery to the ground floor of the Alexandria Hotel (home to The Gorbals) just next door to forthcoming Two Bits Market. Right now this is the no frills, straight forward menu with all dishes priced under $10, however as the kitchen gets up to speed the roster of eats will expand. The kitchen is presided over by Gilbert Coronado, he was the chef in SGV so naturally he has taken over kitchen duties here as well.
Much like the uncomplicated menu, the spacious interior embodies parallel simplicity, mismatched tile and cement floors, a tall exposed ceiling, white on white walls, plus two rooms for dining. Bienvenidos!
