File this one under top newcomers for 2011, Josef Centeno tells LAmag that he plans to open a "casual, neighborhood restaurant” dedicated to the baco, a creation which "...looks like a gyro, has the feel of pizza, you eat it like a taco." But hold up. For all those Lazy Ox fans out there, fear not, Centeno has no plans to abandon the ever-popular eatery, heck, his place, too, will be located downtown for easy commuting.
The new restaurant, slated to open by the end of next summer, is located at 4th and Main currently existing as Banquette and the bookstore next door. In addition to the baco, expect "ingredient driven dishes that 'complement the baco,' and a beer and wine list that will feature small producers and craft beers."
