After hanging in for over a year, Citizen Smith has finally ceased operations as of Christmas Day, despite door signage which reads "temporarily closed." The restaurant was abruptly shuttered by the court receiver put in place to settle the divorce of current operators Brett and Karina Sulzer. Landlords have already listed the property on LoopNet.
Interesting note in the listing, the city plans to make the alley behind the establishment the first Pedestrian Alley in Los Angeles. Anyway, a sad shutter, beautiful space. Must be cursed by the ghosts of dead junkies (apparently it used to be a needle exchange). On to the next.
