Here's what Axe looked like today at 10:30AM. The front is all boarded up, sounds of construction in full swing echoing out. As a recap, over the summer this popular, hip Abbot Kinney eatery experienced a fire serious enough to shut it down, even the casting office up above, Betty Mae, had to move to a new home. The venue remained dormant for months, with rumors swirling as to Axe's fate. Word on the street was that Joanna Moore, the restaurant's proprietor, had listed the property for sale with a 50-50 chance of reopening in a new location. Anyway, here's the latest. Eater hears that Moore plans to reopen Axe January 15, though she will sell it after the relaunch. Also, apparently right now there are two parties interested in buying the property, the Gjelina clan (Travis Lett et all), and the second is a non-LA based restaurant group. Remains to be seen. ·Axe Still Shuttered, Perhaps Gone For Good [~ELA~]
