Earlier this week B+S reported on a new cafe coming to Melrose, now here's the full scoop. Vcafe, just west of Fred Segal on Melrose, will provide another lunch option on this otherwise deserted stretch of trendy retail shops. Opened by Murtazza Ahumadi (who also owns the nearby V-Cut Salon), this casual eatery will serve a comfortable blend of salads, pastries, and sandwiches from 8AM to 8PM daily. Ahumadi has installed an espresso machine and plans to offer freshly squeezed juices, plus a small selection of retail items including olive oils and jams. Breakfast items will range from pastris to hot breakfast sandwiches. Construction is complete and features pure walnut shelving and all eco-friendly construction. Vcafe hopes to open its doors in a couple of weeks, pending permits and inspections.
