SANTA MONICA— Up above is an exterior shot of Upper West, though no signage just yet. The inside is still under wraps, but owners Eyal Raziel and Elad Benisti have chosen a creamy off white and dark wood color scheme with exposed wood beams on ceiling, large inside-outside patio, dark tables and chairs, sealed cement floor, and dark wood bar. Let's see...kinda like a steakhouse meets Pottery Barn. [EaterWire]
PASADENA— Squid Ink shares news of a few local shutters inside Paseo Colorado: D'Vine Wine, Pasadena Jazz Institute, and Mexican restaurant Paseo Cantina. While Paseo Cantina and D'Vine Wine remain empty, Pasadena Jazz Institute has been claimed by Middle Eastern eatery Noor Restaurant which should open this Spring. [LAW]
WOODLAND HILLS— As of March 1, hot dog/sausage depot The Stand will add breakfast to their daily roster, opening at 7:30AM daily. Don't be scared, it's not hot dogs for breakfast. Their menu mostly offers the usual eggs options. [HoW]
DOWNTOWN— On February 16 Takami Sushi and Robata Restaurant is joining forces with Far Niente Winery and Nickel & Nickel for a five course $59 wine dinner. Seems like a decent enough price considering the vineyards involved, plus Far Niente's Dolce comes with dessert. [EaterWire]
