David Haskell Teams Up With Umami, Chaya Venice Shutters For Spring Cleaning, Chameau Debuts Tomorrow

SANTA MONICAUmami opens tonight at Fred Segal but looking down the road a bit, owner Adam Fleischman is pairing up with currently restaurant-less David Haskell for a night of burgers and booze. April 7, two seatings at 6 and 9PM, $35 per person for Umami sliders paired with Haskell's vino/brews of choice. Guest chef of the night will be Starchef winner Jordan Kahn providing chicken liver mousse burgers and dessert. [EaterWire]

VENICE— Visible above, Chaya Venice has temporarily shuttered for "Spring cleaning," meanwhile a few doors down on Main Street Chaya Go has claimed a former furniture store space and debuts on March 27. Stop by for all you can eat sushi, beer, wine, sake for $20, 5PM till close. Proceeds benefit C-CAP (Careers through Culinary Arts Program). [EaterWire]

MID-CITY— According to Mondette, Chameau 2.0 debuts tomorrow. Previously a Moroccan restaurant, Chameau will now offer bistro-style French deli fare (?) in its revamped digs. [EaterWire]
