Welcome to District, George Abou-Daoud's late bloomer, opening tomorrow for dinner. Like all of Abou-Daoud's other spots (Delancy, Mercantile), this one too was designed by the man himself, with a hip, rustic vibe, check out the exposed brick and dark wood galore. Kris Morningstar is onboard as chef and has prepared an ever-changing bistro menu with dishes like Duck Fat Yorkshire Pudding with Thyme; Cheesy Rice Agnolotti with Crispy Arugula, Hazelnuts & Porcini Sauce; and Guinea Hen with Baby Carrots, Pearl Onions, Chanterelles and Honey. Libations fall under leadership of Matthew Lathan, formerly of the Dining Room at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, here one will find vino plus a bevy of small-batch liquors. Drop by tomorrow or sometime in the near future, but do note hours will be 6PM to midnight Tuesday through Sunday. Late night eats always welcome.
