PASADENA— LA Weekly shares news of Euro Pane's early soft opening today. This second outpost of the bakery was due to open on May 1, but "Baker-owner Sumi Chang says she's just testing things out until the café has its formal opening next Monday, with pastries, coffee, and a simple lunch menu." This a pared down version of the original bakery which remains, further down on Colorado Blvd. [LAW]
THE STREETS OF LA— Grub Street posts a notice of even more trucks hitting the streets, each (of course) with their own ever so unique concept. Gourmet Genie To Go offers Middle Eastern tacos, with beef, chicken, lamb, and fish, in addition to pita wraps, kebab, falafel, cous cous, and dolmas, all featuring organic ingredients. Ta Bom!, is a team of mothers and daughters who create tacos and burritos with Brazilian flavors. Soon to hit the streets are the Seabirds Truck (healthy lunch eats for the O.C.) and the Mambo Juice Truck. What it plans to serve is anyone's guess. [GS]
BEVERLY HILLS— Mother's Day is fast approaching and as it's the number one dine out day in the U.S. besides Valentine's Day, you can never be over-prepared. Fortunately, The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills is ready with a Mother's Day tasting with Teuscher Swiss Chocolates on Friday May 7 from 7 - 9PM. $50 per person gets mom six cheeses, six chocolates and six wines.
