SoCal's Best Pizza Slices and Pies According to Slice

New, 24 comments

Slice takes a look at SoCal's (really more like LA's) top pizza offerings, here's the final word. By the slice: Bonello's New York Pizza in San Pedro offers a solid thin crust slice, Damiano's isn't worth a drive across town, Lamonica's New York Pizza proves a bit greasy, Mulberry Street Pizza provides generally pleasing pies, Joe's is an all around favorite with "flawless" slices, and top contender Vito's comes in second place with "excellent" slices. For whole pies: Bleecker Street located in Tarzana supplies a "solid" slice, Nicky D's scores high with the clam pie, as does Pizzeria Antica in MDR with its Neapolitan pies and, of course, Pizzeria Mozza with high marks for its pizza crust.

A second round of pizza picks selected by contributor Damon Gambuto goes out to: Antica Pizzeria, Avanti Cafe, Bottega Louie, Casa Bianca, Garage Pizza, Gjelina, Il Dolce Pizzeria, Joe's, Mulberry Street Pizza, Nicky D's, Pavich's Brick Oven Pizzeria, Pizza Per Tutti, Pizzeria Mozza, Tomato Pie, and Vito's. Did they miss any? As always, comments down below.
