DOWNTOWN— Church & State is about to get a new neighbor. Daily Dose, a "traditional" European coffee house, is set to open in the next six week next door to the French bistro. Obviously, Daily Dose will serve coffee, but much in the vein of Ad Hoc, the shop also plans to offer food, though without an actual menu. Patrons will only have the option to order whatever the chef chooses to cook on that given day. [EaterWire] —YE
BEVERLY HILLS— Remember Darioush, that new La Cienega spot that opened like five minutes ago? Eek, it's already shuttered, temporarily though. Apparently, extra time was needed to "put final touches on the menu." [GS]
HOLLYWOOD— On May 23 chef Michael Cimarusti will hold a farmers market cooking class at Providence for $100 per person. Learn how to make use of all those farmers market goodies, to reserve one of the 30 slots call the restaurant at 323-460-4170. [EaterWire]
