What was once old shall be new again with the reopening of Las Palmas on Las Palmas in Hollywood. 12 years ago the original incarnation of Las Palmas debuted, though the space was eventually transformed by the h.wood group (Loyal Pennings, John Terzian, Brian Toll) into LAX. Now, the trio have decided to refurbish the abandoned club back into Las Palmas with the soft opening set for Cinco de Mayo, May 5, and the official debut coming May 12. Here's what to expect. First off, there will be an outdoor taco stand by the entrance serving Mexican fare until 3AM. Sweet! Inside, the goal was to recreate the feel of the original Las Palmas, so look for vintage Spanish tiles, wood finishes, plus brass and other metal detailing. While Las Palmas definitely serves as a nightlife spot, it will also offer the requisite Mexican menu.
