Santa Monica Place Welcomes Sonoma Wine Garden

New, 7 comments

In addition to the confirmed list of restaurants set to debut inside megamall Santa Monica Place, here's one more to add to the list, Sonoma Wine Garden. Hm, wine what? Yes, wine garden, as in wine bar meets beer garden type situation. Restaurateur Jeremy Umland is behind this project and while that name might not sound completely familiar he is the owner of Ozumo in San Fran and also plans to open another such branch here in Santa Monica Place. But back to SWG. Glance up above for a rendering of the forthcoming restaurant, clearly extensive patio space with a sleek wine bar atmosphere and presumed pretty ocean views. Playing on the whole urban garden thing that seems to be quite the hot trend, there will also be an outdoor bar surrounded by olive trees, herb beds and organic plantings.

The rustic, small plate menu will feature fresh pastas, and, of course, cheese and charcuterie selections. As for vino, look for a “Best Of Sonoma" list, as well as a variety of selections from around the world in addition to an extensive wine by the glass list. Beer selections still tbd.
