Welcome to Cucina Rustica, downtown's newest Italian restaurant which has opened at the corner of Figueroa and Wilshire in the Financial District. Who is behind this project? Proprietor Albert Shahmoradian, owner of another restaurant with the same name in Montrose. The open air space is divided into several different dining atmospheres, there's the subterranean wine cellar and bar that also offers a few nearby tables, in addition to the brightly lit main dining space with sky lights and huge floor to ceiling windows broken up by the restaurant's angular design. As for eats, think similar menu to Montrose with a few changes, though overall same traditional Italian vibe. Sample menu items include pizzas (Quattro Formaggi'), pastas, and entrees such as filet mignon and veal parmigiana. The restauant is open daily from 11AM to 11PM.
