Status: Opens tonight
Cancel your plans for 6PM this evening and type the following address into Google Maps: 3300 Overland Ave., Los Angeles. Now, brace yourselves for Chego opening in just over an hour, the new brick-and-mortar restaurant by Roy Choi of Kogi BBQ fame and recent Food & Wine best new chef winner. From 6PM– midnight Tuesday through Saturday, Kogi fans can scarf down Buttered Kimchi Chow, a One Chubby Pork Belly bowl, or Tiny’s Prime Rib Bowl and finish it all off with a Rock Yer Road (chocolate ice cream, smoked almonds, caramel, brownies, and melting marshmallow fluff). It’s a new classic: the happy marriage of all things Korean, Mexican, and culinary. Just don’t ask to use their payphone.
