Hakobe, Set to Serve But Closed For Months

New, 5 comments

What's the deal with Hakobe? Adolfo Suaya opened the Japanese restaurant in the old Lodge home on La Cienega last summer, though since inception it's been perpetually empty. After noticing that the restaurant was shuttered on several occasions during prime business hours (say, Tuesday night, 7:30PM) it was time to investigate the scene. According to neighboring restaurants' valet attendants, Hakobe closed "a couple of months ago." Oddly enough, aside from unkempt landscaping in front, the place still looks like a functioning restaurant. The dining room is still set up, ready for dinner service as photos show. Something fishy is going on. [EaterWire]
