HOLLYWOOD— Remember that silly contest SBE arranged to rename the former White Lotus spot? Well kids, we have a winner. Drum roll please...and then new name is...Colony. And, of course there is a totally pretentious story to go alongside: the winner "spent some time in the Hamptons and after reading the description of the venue and its amenities he was immediately reminded of the exclusive beachside community know as the Summer Colony...a gathering place for the trendsetting elite from all over the world which reminded him of Hollywood and inspired him to choose Colony as the new name." DOWNTOWN— According to Urban Daddy, The Lounge at WP24, has soft opened on the 24th floor of the new Ritz-Carlton at LA Live. Come for cocktails then dine at WP24. [Urban Daddy]

UCLA— Mark your calendars for the Festival of Books, happening this year on April 24 and April 25 on the UCLA campus. Recent cookbook authors Alicia Silverstone (The Kind Diet) and Tricia Yearwood (Home Cooking with Tricia Yearwood) should also help to draw in the crowds.
