Back in January the LA Times reported that Newcomb's Ranch, a secluded restaurant in the Angeles National Forest, was slated for demolition. Proprietor Frederick Rundall, who took over the eatery in 2001, explained that the venue was consistently threatened by wildfires, mudslides, road closures, thus the need to shutter. However, as of exactly five weeks ago today, Newcomb's Ranch has reopened! For those planing outdoor expeditions, the hours of operation now are Friday 12-8PM, Saturday 8AM-8PM, and Sunday 7AM-8PM.
