STUDIO CITY— Lots of ice cream news today (in addition to the opening of Sweet Rose Creamery tomorrow at noon, in case you forgot). First up is NiceCream Vegan Ice Cream, not to be confused with the other N'iceCream in Venice. According to Quarry Girl this is "LA’s only entirely dairy-free ice cream parlour" and is open as of yesterday (Saturday is the grand unveiling). Hold up. The place is called "NiceCream Vegan Ice Cream" yet some of the flavors call for honey, rendering some flavors actually non-vegan... Anyway, tons of flavors here, in addition to milkshakes, banana splits, and ice cream sandwiches. [Quarry Girl]

LOS FELIZ— The cold front continues over to Los Feliz where Gelato Bar launched today on Hillhurst in the old Hollywood Gelato Company space. In an interesting twist, and because the shop is located at 1936 N. Hillhurst Avenue, co-owner Gail Silverton has decided to price "everything based on 1936 economics until the official grand opening, which is TBA." As for the cream, come by for Alessandro Fontana's handcrafted gelati. [LAW]

SANTA MONICAOcean & Vine located inside the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel has a new cook in the kitchen. Executive Chef Keith Roberts replaced former EC Gregory Foos and is currently work on developing a new oceanfront sushi bar set to debut next month. He also is working on cultivating an exotic fruit garden at the hotel. [EaterWire]

SANTA MONICA— Grub Street reports that MiSoFishy has replaced Yuni on Lincoln. MiSo's massive menu spans from sushi rolls to steak sandwiches. [GS]
