Mooi Raw/Vegan Restaurant Opening May 20 in Echo Park

Opening next Thursday, May 20, is Mooi, a new raw/vegan restaurant coming to Echo Park. Mooi actually retails some of its products at Naturewell in Silver Lake, and this permanent location will serve as both a commissary for catering, preparing retail products, and also as a restaurant. Health inspections were passed yesterday. Note, Mooi uses only organic ingredients in its foods and also sources pretty much everthing locally as well. For some examples of food, check out these pics. On another note, Quarry Girl is running a little pre-opening contest. Basically, the idea is to create a vegan ice cream flavor and the winning concoction will appear on the Mooi menu, cool. For full details and to check out the existing flavors, head here. As far as hours, Mooi will be open Monday through Saturday 8AM to 3PM with a daytime menu featuring light breakfast and lunch items, and a walk up dessert bar with juices, smoothies, and Intelligentsia coffee. Wendesday through Saturday from 6PM to 11Pm Mooi will serve dinner, and Sunday from 10AM to 3PM brunch only.
