So, yes, come June 19 Los Angeles mainstay Grace Restaurant will shutter its mid-city location and shift east to reopen downtown in Vibiana Cathedral. Last Friday, Grace management shared news that chef/owner John Sedlar (pictured right) of Rivera planned to open another outpost of Rivera in the soon-to-be defunct Grace home, however PR for Rivera reports that the new eatery will actually be named R26 (the working title) with a slightly different spin. The casual eatery is inspired by the 26 different regions in Central America, South America, Mexico, the Hispanic Caribbean and Spain with a focus on small and medium plates obviously meant for sharing. Much like Rivera's fantastic fresh fruit cocktail selections, at R26 mix masters Julian Cox and Kristina Howald will head the "extensive cocktail program" with a similar ethos. As it now stands, the estimated opening is fall 2010.
