Back in March came word that ancient (by LA standards, at least) Beverly Hills mainstay Ristorante DaVinci had reopened after its 2008 shutter with a fresh new look, new Mediterranean menu, and new chef. At the stoves was/is Chef Jason Fullilove who had previously worked at Ilan Hall's The Gorbals downtown. Around that time restaurant management made an effort to draw in bloggers to check out the updated digs and sample the new menu, but clearly those efforts didn't prove incredibly fruitful because the eatery is listed for sale by Bizben.
According to the ad,
"DaVinci's Mediterranean Restaurant has been established at this location for over 50 years. The restaurant was first made popular in the late 60's, by having "celebrity" patronage. In fact, Dean Martin and his pals were regulars for drinks and dinner. Although rich in history, the restaurant has been recently remodeled. The architectural features are unsurpassed. It has a perfect balance between classic Mediterranean elements and contemporary features. It is a very elegant European style. The restaurant was completely gutted and rebuilt. Everything is new and upto current building codes. The tenant improvement project took 18 months to complete, with a cost of 1,000,000. Just the kithcen cost over 100K. Certificate of occupancy was issued in January. Essentially, this is a new building/facility...The restaurant is over 3000 square feet and is permitted to seat 100. Plenty of city owned parking behind the building. Full Liquour License. 8 years remain on the Lease Agreement. The lease payment is 13,500 per month. A couple of years previous to the remodeling of the restaurant, DaVinci's had gross annual sales receipts of 4,000,000. Since the reopening, the restaurant has experienced sales growth from month to month."
