1) Culver City: Coming to Washington Blvd next door to the Culver Plaza Theatres is sandwich and cupcake hybrid Kanoo's. The space formerly was an Army recruiting office which had been vacant for several months. Interesting... [EaterWire]

2) Venice: Slated to open in December or January '11 is Dry Tour, a low key wine bar to serve "fine wines, premium beers, infused sake cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks and sodas, and a simple but refined menu of delicious small plate items," according to its comprehensive website. The eatery hopes to move into 80 Windward, one of Venice's oldest buildings constructed in 1906. Tomorrow, Dry Tour will hold a community outreach meeting from 7-8PM at 73 Market Street in effort to draw additional local support before its May 12th Land Use & Planning Commission meeting. [Yo! Venice!]

3) Mid-City: Just a few updates on Sean MacPherson's (El Carmen, The Roger Room, Bar Lubitsch) new Italian spot which has claimed the old Orso space. No word on the name just yet but MacPherson has been scouring the country and Italy in search of the perfect fixtures for the space, mainly antiques. He's looking to find the perfect doors, windows, tile, etc., in order to create a space that is like no other in LA. [EaterWire]

4) Mid-City: Signage for Ratner's Deli has appeared on the corner of La Cienega and 3rd. A website, too, is under construction. [Mondette]
