Good Deeds

Nina's Food's win at the Vendy Awards has proven bittersweet. The street food vendor stole the show, and as a result has attracted a ton of attention both positive and negative. Midtown Lunch reports that some of the unwanted attention comes by way of cops: "She's been shut down and harassed so often since the Vendy’s, she doesn’t think she can continue unless she gets a truck, which she can’t afford. (Until now, she’s vended from a table.)" Oy. Good Food host/Chef Evan Kleiman to the rescue. Kleiman has organized a benefit for Nina Sunday at Angeli Cafe from 11AM-3PM. Full details at KCRW.
