The Hemingway, La Monarca Bakery, Juicy Burger, MORE!

New, 4 comments

1) Hollywood: The Hemingway, that new club from Johnny Zander, is slowly but surely coming to fruition. So far, with antiqued bookshelf beams and embossed flooring, the inside looks like a cross between The Edison and Bar Delux. When asked when the construction would be done, the contractor shrugged. From the looks of things, a couple of months would do them good. [EaterWire] — DG

2) Santa Monica: Taking over that corner Frogo Yogurt spot on Wilshire and Euclid comes La Monarca Bakery. The third CA outpost for this mini-chain offers an assortment of Mexican-inspired baked good from sweet and savory breads to coffee, cakes, even ice cream. [Toddrickallen]

3) Hollywood: Juicy Burger, in the former home of Tom Yum Thai on the corner of Hollywood and Ivar, is coming right along. George Ghaby's burger joint is set to start serving by the end of this month with several classic burger options to pick from, along with 10 different sauces for the fries. [EaterWire] — DG

4) Los Feliz: Amraj Organic Mediterranean is the next newbie opening on Hillhurt. The eatery has a roofed patio and marble interior. [Eating LA]

4) Hollywood: Cafe Entourage, in the 1600 Vine building, looks promising (read: like a cliche), but building representatives say the venture is a "maybe." It's been a long time coming and ownership is going through some financial woes. Construction has been start and stall from the beginning so no word on a possible opening date. [EaterWire] — DG

5) Mid City: Curbed shares news on a new development coming to the corner of 3rd and Fairfax from local developer A.F. Gilmore, owner of the Farmers Market. The plan is to build a Mid-Century designed one floor retail building with restaurant. [Curbed]
