Anybody that stopped by the Roosevelt Hotel's stand at yesterday's Taste of the Nation would have noticed postcards and chalkboard signage boasting the name "Public Kitchen & Bar." Hm, and where in the hotel is this eatery located? It's not. Remember, oh, eight months ago that little EaterWire mention that Dakota was becoming a new restaurant? Well, here it is kids, Public Kitchen & Bar, a new gastropub taking over Dakota in about three months. Expect a redesign, new menu, the whole nine yards. As far as the menu, it's likely that the dishes served yesterday foreshadow what's to come. And, let's not forget, this is the second new project coming to the Roosevelt. Also in the works is that upstairs bar and game room, The Spare Room.
