Status: Open Friday
Gaby's Mediterranean Cafes are taking over Washington Boulevard. There's one at Washington and Lincoln, with a very popular drive thru window. Then there's the beachside cafe with outdoor seating at Washington between Pacific and the ocean. And now Gaby's has ventured further east to Washington and La Cienega. And, In case you happen to be driving down Venice, there's also one at Venice and Overland. The newest outpost is an 'express' version, though it looks a lot like the others. The old Pizza Hut space took several months to redevelop and rebrand, but the shiny new digs have been host to some hungry crowds over the weekend.
The space opened on Friday and each day's lunch crowd has filled up all of the inside tables. While they hope to offer patio seating, they are still waiting for permits to be approved. And, it's a hard building to miss: there's the bright blue signage, over white stucco. Gaby's "healthy" fast food appeal and homogenization of Greek and Lebanese favorites have been a part of the LA landscape for years. Further expansion is imminent. The newest location also has a sizable parking lot, making it an easy stop for pick up orders, though delivery is also available. Come by daily from 11AM to 11PM.
