In their July issue (out on newsstands now), Angeleno magazine announced their picks for their 8th Annual Restaurant awards. Yesterday, food critic Brad A. Johnson revealed the winners via Twitter with hourly updates. Restaurant of the Year: Hatfields; Best New Restaurant: Lazy Ox Canteen; Runner-up, Best New Restaurant: Bistro LQ; Chef of the Year: Michael Cimarusti (Providence); Runner-up, Chef of the Year: Ludovic Lefebvre (LudoBites); Best New Chef: Michael Voltaggio; Best Pastry Chef: Jun Tan (Cube); Runner-up, Best Pastry Chef: Zoe Nathan (Huckleberry & Rustic Canyon); Outstanding Service: Grill on the Alley; Outstanding Wine & Spirits: The Bazaar.
The rest of the Top 10 for Best Restaurant (lots of newcomers here): WP24, Culina, La Cachette Bistro, House Cafe, Waterloo & City, Bouchon, South Beverly Grill, Red O.
Angeleno also gave out a Vanguard Award for Lifetime Achievement for the Downtown establishment, Water Grill.
Beyond the big winners, Johnson also shared his favorite dishes in LA.
All of the winners will celebrated at the "Chefs Night Out" Awards Ceremony, to be held on August 1 at The Fairmont.
