As of last week, Bistro Laurent has debuted on Sepulveda in Culver City. Owner Laurent Triqueneaux is no neophyte to the restaurant industry, he also owns Cafe Laurent, and formerly helmed The Woods as well. Click through the below photos to get an idea of the small space which consists of a long communal table between two rows of two-tops along opposing walls, an exposed industrial ceiling, and metal bistro chairs. At the far back of the room sits a refrigerated deli case stocked with croissants, madeleines, and other French pastries that are made from one secret, or not so secret, ingredient, Darigold butter from Seattle. Those looking to sample extra-flakey croissants can stop by for breakfast until 11AM during the week and all day long on weekends. Lunch is served post 11AM during the week, and dinner service kicks in Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 5:30PM to 9PM. Breakfast and lunch offerings air on the more American side with dishes like honey wheat pancakes, eggs in an omelette, sandwich or pita, and standard salads. However, dinner becomes much more French via savory galettes, steak au poivre, and poulet Basquaise.
