Belly Time, Edward's Steak House, Groovy Smoothies & Crepes

1) K-Town: Asian fusion restaurant Belly Time has closed its doors on Wilshire. The eatery was formerly known as Pata's Cafe ("Since 1990" according to the to-go menu) serving Thai food. The name switch in the past year was meant to signify a broadening of the menu to include Korean and Chinese dishes along with the Thai offerings. Unfortunately, the name and menu change didn't help business. [EaterWire]

2) El Monte: After 64 years of service, Edward's Steak House, too, has thrown in the towel. The restaurant sent out the following email to its email subscribers: " It is with heartfelt emotion and sincere regret that we must inform you that Edward's Steak House's last day of business will be on Sunday, July 25, 2010. It has been an honor for our family and loyal employees to serve you over the past 64 years, but given the current economic conditions and exhausting all possibilities, this decision leaves us with no other choice. We will continue to deliver the best in food and service until the minute we close because that is the Edward's legacy. From all of us at Edward's, we would like to sincerely thank you for all of years of loyalty and could not be more proud to have been a part of your lives and celebrations. We hope you come in and celebrate with us one last time." [EaterWire]

2) Marina Del Rey: Grub Street reports that Groovy Smoothies & Crepes has shuttered after about a year of business. [GS]
