There are certainly no shortage of food tasting events during summer months, and on August 1 Angeleno magazine holds its very own evening of edible delights in celebration of the publications' 8th annual restaurant awards. Naturally, Angeleno's resident food critic Brad A. Johnson hosts this soiree which pays tribute to the following local top dogs: Chef Michael Cimarusti (Providence), chef Michael Voltaggio (The Langham); chef Ludovic Lefebvre (LudoBites); pastry chef Zoe Nathan (Huckleberry, Rustic Canyon); chef Josef Centeno (Lazy Ox); chefs Quinn and Karen Hatfield (Hatfield's) and sommelier Lucas Paya (The Bazaar). Quite obviously a stellar roster of talent. Many of the aforementioned will be cooking at the event, but here's the complete list of participating restaurants: Angelini Osteria, The Bazaar, Bistro LQ, Cache, Comme Ça, Culina, Hatfield’s, Jar, Josie, LudoBites, Melisse, The Langham, Fig, Nine Thirty, Petrossian, Street, Wilshire, and WP24. So, the entire evening takes place at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica and general admission tickets cost $95 or $150 for VIP which includes a pre-reception invite. [EaterWire]
