Inside Salt's Cure, The Finished Space

Elizabeth Daniels 6/10
The build-out at Chris Phelps and Zak Walters' Salt's Cure is complete. Clearly that estimated July 14 opening came and went, and now the pair are eagerly awaiting final permits and hope to open by the end of the month. Last night Salt's Cure opened up for a friends and family pre-taste and, as expected, the food was on-point. Incredibly juicy, flavor-packed pulled pork with pickled onions on Breadbar rolls and a perfectly crisp BLT with the usual suspects piled atop whole grain brioche bread also from Breadbar. And then that watermelon simply adorned with honey and sea salt... Chris and Zak definitely know what they are doing and Salt's Cure is poised to be a big success. Eventually Zak said he wants to be able to bake his own bread, he wants to be able to make everything in-house. But, the idea is to start off slow.
