Sevan Azarian To Cook $300 Burrito at Te'Kila Opening July

New, 3 comments

Hollywood Blvd's La Cantina is well on its way to become Te'Kila, a Mexican restaurant and bar operated by The Room Group (responsible for Kaffe Rouge in Studio City). While the venue was originally slated to open last month, here we are in June without that debut. However, according to the Facebook page of interior design team Spacecraft, Te'Kila is currently hiring servers and bartenders, and should open within the next two to three weeks. In other news, chef Sevan Azarian, a long time private chef to Adam Sandler and also the man behind Recess in Glendale, has signed on to craft traditional Mexican fare with a menu primarily focused on tacos and burritos. Think carnitas, asada, and chicken tacos topped with salsa roja and salsa verde infused with the namesake, tequila. Other more playful taco creations could include a chicken chorizo taco and an ahi taco, and to top it all off, a $300 burrito will appear on the menu as well. What makes this burrito worthy of a $300 price tag. Details to be revealed shortly.

Anyway, on the Spacecraft design side of things, the restaurant will embody Kris Keith's take on a rustic Mexican eatery. That means natural tones and textures, hand-painted tiles, tin ceilings, and even some seating along Hollywood Blvd. Inside, French doors lead to a 500 square foot outdoor patio with string lights.
