Here we have both a shutter and expansion all in one fell swoop. La Salsa on Little Santa Monica has closed its doors. We're left bewildered since it was right next door to LA favorite Sprinkles cupcakes. One would think that Sprinkles' perpetual line out the door would have given La Salsa more than enough business, but apparently not. And what with all of the Magnolia news lately, we almost missed Sprinkles new expansion plans! Real estate agents confirm that Sprinkles is expanding into the space that formerly housed its neighbor, La Salsa. What this means for your sweet tooth: More baking on-site and more seating for the kids. [EaterWire]
