On the heels of the finale The Next Food Network Star finale, Zocalo Public Square announced a panel helmed by Jonathan Gold, discussing how celebrity chefdom has shaped the foodie culture. Shows such as The Next Food Network Star, Top Chef, and Hell's Kitchen are transforming chefs, caterers, and amateur cooks into full-fledged celebrities. These previously unknown cooks are joining the ranks of big name chefs such as Bobby Flay and Rachel Ray, who are known now as much for their personalities as for their food. The panel will discuss the new rise of the celebrity chef and how they are changing food. Participats of note include Nancy Silverton of Mozza and Susan Feniger of Street. Make your reservations to attend at the Zocalo website. — YI
