Eater recently popped by downtown's Lazy Ox Canteen, and lo and behold, stumbled upon several plywood situations. If you're facing Lazy Ox, directly to the left sits an an open space with a brand new ABC license posted in the window for Toranoko. Let's rewind. Many months ago, there were musings that owner Michael Cardenas (Boa, Katana, Sushi Roku) had plans to open a Japanese restaurant next to Lazy Ox, thus Eater hears this is that such project. But wait, there's more! In fact, through the grapevine comes word that Cardenas has plan to open not one, not two, but THREE! new restaurants right near Lazy Ox, and check out that other corner shot of ply above which Eater also hears Cardenas has claimed. Geez louise, three at once? The third location is still a mystery, but tips welcome down below. [EaterWire]
