All aboard! What happens when Roy Choi teams up with David Reiss and co (The Brig)? A spot like The Alibi Room is born, or was born, about three years ago. A modern bar serving Kogi bites, no truck needed, Kogi's first version of brick and mortar. Nice. And now, just four months after Roy Choi/team Kogi debuted Chego, through the grapevine comes word that Choi is back at it, creating bites for another larger restaurant in Culver City under the leadership of, again, David Reiss. Remember that gray A-frame building a stone's throw from Waterloo & City on Washington Blvd?
Eater previously reported that it was under construction to become a new Korean concept, apparently a place where one only eats with one's hands. No utensils. The Kogi crew is keeping all details close to the vest, but the eatery should debut in about a month and, per the above photos, features an outdoor patio/garden plus fire pit, a full bar inside, and more than enough parking. More to come!
