Here now, the old Chichen Itza space at the Asbury Building in Westlake by MacArthur Park. Some plywood shots of the goings on inside and out, the ABC notice reads "Asbury Fusion Cuisine." In the meantime, former Chichen Itza signage has been removed and replaced with an announcement of Asbury Fusion. "Fusion" can be a scary word, should be interesting to see how this one plays out especially in this gentrification-resistant community. The neighborhood has a lack of casual, inexpensive non-pupuseria restaurants, but the two previous restaurants that opened in the area - Chichen Itza and Royale - were both overpriced for the area and both closed after about a year.
