Several months back Santa Monica dive bar and music venue 14 Below reopened after a year long shutter. Despite the relaunch, owners Todd Christiansen (The Mint), Casey Phillips (The Force Agency), and Rory Lovett (partner/general manager) planned to shutter the venue for another revamp, and here now, the final outcome. 14 Below has been renamed to CENTRAL Social Aid & Pleasure Club (curious) and will continue to host live indie and electronic bands in its newest iteration. Not much has changed on the outside, save for that green 14 which has been painted black plus the new signage boasting the venue's new name. Inside, the space is divided into two rooms each with its own bar, the first room considered the "DJ Lounge" with a fireplace, exposed brick, and stainless steel embellishments, the second area deemed the "Music Hall" with a stage for bands to perform just as before. Check upcoming events here.
