On Friday came the news that West Hollywood youngster Mexico Restaurante Y Barra would shutter this past Sunday. While that was probably the original plan, owner Larry Nicola has since sold the restaurant to Ryan Allen Carrillo and Andrew Gruver, executives for The Saddle Ranch Chop House Corporation who then went on to work for SBE. The duo have decided to keep the restaurant open and operating as is until November 1, at which point they will close the venue for about a month for renovations and then reopen as a new concept serving more traditional coastal Mexican fare. That leaves just a little bit more time to score those wood-fired duck taquitos.
