Welcome back to another Report of Ply, your A-Z guide to splinters and cement from the beach to the valley and then some. Spot a restaurant in the making? Drop us a line.

1) Pasadena: In place of Malagueta Restaurant on E. Colorado sprouts the first CA outpost of the Arizona-based chain Pita Jungle. Hopefully it will fare better than that Pita Pit outpost that once lived on Sunset. [Pasadena Scoop]

2) Sherman Oaks: Replacing Spazio on the corner of Ventura and Willis comes a new restaurant called Athenea. No word on specifics just yet. [EaterWire]

3) Pasadena: More by way of Pasadena. New York Deli appears in the former Famima!! space in Old Pas, and yet another outpost of BJ's Brewhouse might be taking over a massive 14,000 square foot plot in the empty Premier Jewelry Mall. [PREwBY]

4) Culver City: Also, lots happening in Culver City. The latest, a branch of Em's Artist Cafe will move into that old Tommy's space on the corner or La Cienega and Washington. Check out the eats here, general organic fare, yogurt, granola, eggs in the am, and salads, pasta, meat, veggies in the pm. [GS]
