Perhaps in effort to combat the seemingly unending streak of food-borne illness outbreaks, Gov. Schwarzenegger has signed a bill requiring all workers involved with food preparation, service, or storage to receive training in food-safety and earn something deemed a "food handler card." Employees will undergo a mandatory food-safety exam to acquire the necessary card, almost like passing the written exam to obtain a drivers license, but with food. [NRN]
